JEE Main 2019 Notifications – Application From Start from 1st December to 2nd January 2019
About JEE Main 2019:
JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. It is basically a two tier examination consisting of 1. Main Exam and 2. Advanced Exam. The organization conducting these exams is the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). You need to clear JEE Advanced Exam to get admission to an IIT while you need to clear JEE Main Exam to appear for JEE Advanced Exam. Also, clearing JEE Main exam can get you admission into B. Tech/ B. Arch offered by various NITs or IITs.
Contents of JEE Main 2019:
JEE Main consists of 2 papers: 1. Paper 1 (for B. Tech that’s Engineering) and 2. Paper 2 (For B. Arch that’s Architecture).
Paper 1 comprises of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
Paper 2 comprises of Aptitude Test, Drawing Test & Mathematics.
Updated knowledge of the entire syllabus is a must for every JEE Aspirant.
DETAILS OF PAPER 1:
- It consists of Multiple Choice Questions and negative marking is also there.
- There are total 90 questions. You get +4 marks for every correct answer & you get -1 for each wrong answer.
- You have option to give exam in English or Hindi.
- It can be given Online or Offline.
- The 90 questions consist of – 30 questions from Physics; 30 questions from Chemistry & 30 questions from Mathematics.
- The maximum marks for Paper 1 is 90 questions X 4 marks each = 360 marks.
- The duration of the paper is of 3 hours & for students having 40% or more disability, 4 hours are provided.
DETAILS OF PAPER 2:
- It consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions & 2 descriptive questions of drawing. Negative marking is also there.
- There are total 82 questions. You get +4 marks for every correct answer (2 questions of drawing test carry 70 marks) & you get -1 for each wrong answer of MCQ.
- You have option to give exam in English or Hindi.
- It can be given Offline only.
- The 82 questions consist of – 30 questions from Mathematics; 50 questions from Aptitude test & 2 questions from Drawing.
- The maximum marks for Paper 2 is 390.
- The duration of the paper is of 3 hours & for students having 40% or more disability, 4 hours are provided.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main Exam:
- A student can give JEE main exam for a maximum of 3 times only.
- Candidates who have appeared/ passed 12th Exam or any other equivalent Exam (which includes Physics, Chemistry & Maths subject) in 2015 or 2016 are eligible to apply. Candidates who have cleared 12th Exams before 2014 are ineligible for the exam.
- They should have minimum 5 subjects (including Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) in 12th standard for being eligible for the Main Exam.
- There is also an age limit for the aspiring candidates. For the general category, the student should be born after 01st October, 1992 and for the reserved category, the candidate must be born after 01st October, 1987.
About the Exam Form
- The Exam Application Form can be filled up Online Only. Offline mode will not be entertained by the Board of Studies.
- The form can be filled up in between 1st December to 2nd January only.
- There is no requirement to send the hard copy/ print outs of the exam form to the Board.
- The payment of the Exam fee can be made online (by credit card/ debit card or netbanking) or offline (by submitting e-challan for authorized banks).
- Students are allowed to make corrections in the exam forms submitted by them. The date for the same will be announced for one week in the second half of January, 2019 tentatively.

Highlights of JEE 2019 EXAM:
- It is madatory for all the aspiring students to have a proper AADHAR Card for being eligible for the Main 2019 Exams. The details shown in the Aadhar Card must be true & fair.
- 12th standard marks are not considered for ranking in The Main Exam. Also, there is no minimum percentage criteria for 12th standard percentage for the JEE Main Exam.
- Students should have atleast 75% marks in case of General Category or atleast 60% marks in case of Reserved Category to be eligible to get admission into the IITs or NITs.
JEE Main Result 2019
The result for JEE Main (Paper 1) will be declared on the 27th April, 2019 and All India Rank for JEE Main (Paper 2) will be released on 27th May 2019. All Students can check their JEE Main Result 2019 through the official site of Jee Main. Candidates are required to enter their roll number and date of birth and click on the submit button to generate your score card. After the result announcement, merit list will be prepared only on the basis of JEE Main Score. From the year 2019 board marks will not be taken in to account for preparing JEE main merit, but candidates who wish to take admission in to IIT’s, IIIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s must score at least 75% in their class 12th board exams as the mandatory eligibility.
How to Study
The following tips will help you to fare well in the JEE Main Exams:
- Be updated regarding the syllabus.
- Refer good & complete notes.
- Try understanding the basic concept behind every topic you study. This will help you to get full knowledge regarding the syllabus.
- Read & Revise. There is no option to this. Study multiple times & revise multiple times, then, nothing can stop you from being successful.
- Solve past exam papers. This will make you familiar with the way questions are asked, also help you to manage time & define areas where you need to improve yourself.
