JEE Main 2020 exam is the most popular engineering entrance exam in India. JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is a two tier examination (Main & Advanced) regulated by CBSE Board. Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2020 is conducted by CBSE in both offline mode and online mode. JEE Mains 2020 is also also an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced 2020, which the candidate has to take for admission to IITs. Candidates who are eligible for the Joint Entrance Examination can fill the JEE 2020 Online Application form, upload documents, pay requisite application fees online. Applicants can download JEE Main 2020 Admit Card using application number and password.

New Changes Introduced in JEE Main from Last Year
- No weight-age for class 12 marks in calculating JEE 2020 ranks.
- Aadhaar Card mandatory this year to apply for JEE Mains.
- Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland, Odisha, and also some other institutions joined.
- Candidate should have secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC / ST), or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class. In order to qualify for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, all students must have at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in higher secondary examination or must be in top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by respective boards.
- Number of Attempts: Candidate can attempt JEE Main exam three times only.
- Diploma (3 years) holders are also eligible to apply.
JEE Main 2020 Application Form
All the candidates must read the information brochure carefully issued by cbec before filling the online application form of JEE Main 2020 to get details about how to apply, application fee & payment mode.
- he Application form filling process for the January session will start from the first week of September 2019 and the April Session registration will start from the second week of February 2020.
- The complete online registration process will contain various steps – Online Registration, Filling the Application online, Uploading of Images, Payment of Application fee and Printing the Application.
- Last date to submit the application form online for the January session is last week of September 2019. For the April session, candidates can submit the application till the first week of March 2020.
- Candidates are required to submit only one application form. Multiple application forms from one candidate will get rejected.
- Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Application Form 2020 only through online process.
- No other modes will be entertained to fill and submit the application form.
- Applications are expected to be start in the first week of December 2020.
- The last date to fill the application form was January, 2020. Now, the application form has been closed.
- Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection.
- There is no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board.
- To apply for JEE Main, students should have Aadhaar Number/Aadhaar Enrollment Number/Registration Number which will be provided by Aadhar facilitation centre.
- Candidates also have to upload scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed specifications
JEE Main 2020 Application Fee:
Application fee of JEE Mains 2020 will depend upon the gender of candidate, category and exam mode. Student may check the application fee from the below table:

- Payment of fee can be done either through credit card/debit card or e-challan.
- Candidates opting e-challan are required to make the payment in Syndicate/ICICI/HDFC/Canara Bank in cash.
Eligibility for JEE Main 2020
JEE Main 2020 Eligibility Criteria is laid down by CBSE. Eligibility criteria for JEE Mains specifies class 12 marks, age limit of applicant, and maximum number of attempts. Moreover subject combination in qualifying examination is specified.
Age Criteria:
- Date of Birth: Students who born on or after 1st October 1993 are eligible for writing the JEE Main examination.
- Relaxation: 5 years relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit of SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. Date of Birth falls on or after 1st October 1988).
- DOB will be considered as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.
Qualification Criteria:
- Qualifying Exam: It is must for the candidates to pass the 12th examination/qualifying examination with 5 subjects to be eligible for JEE Main 2020.
- Subjects: The qualifying examination must be passed/appearing with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
- No Minimum Marks: There is no minimum marks requirement in 12th examination for writing the JEE Main exam. However, candidates have to secure the passing marks.
- Passing Year: Those who have appeared and passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2020 are also eligible to apply. Moreover, candidates appearing the final examination of 12th in 2020 can also fill the JEE Main application form.
- In case if candidate appeared the 12th examination in 2015 but not passed in 2015, passed in 2016 are also not eligible.
- Diploma Holders: Diploma holders may also apply for JEE Main 2020 but only eligible for admission to IITs. In other words, Diploma holders will be eligible for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not eligible for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.
Number of Attempts:
Total 3 attempts will be given for clearing the JEE Main. JEE Advanced can be attempted maximum 2 times in consecutive years.
JEE Main 2020 Exam Pattern
JEE Main 2020 Exam pattern has not been mentioned by CBSE in the information brochure. We have given below the exam pattern of last year’s JEE Main.
JEE Main Paper 1
Paper 1 has objective type with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
- Courses: It is held for engineering courses (B.Tech/BE).
- Number of Questions: It is consisted of 90 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).
- Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
- Mode: It will be commenced via both; online & offline.
- Duration: 3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
- Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response.
- Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response or multi-responses.

Paper 2 has objective type questions for Mathematics (Part I) and Aptitude Test (Part II). Questions to test drawing aptitude are asked for Drawing Test (Part III)

Please note that Paper 1 will be held in offline and online modes, both. Whereas Paper 2 will be held only offline.
- Courses: It is held for Architecture course. (B.Arch).
- Number of Questions: It is consisted of 82 questions (MCQs) out of which 30 questions from mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions (descriptive) of drawing test.
- Subjects: The paper will be asked from subjects as Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing.
- Language: Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
- Mode: It will be commenced via offline mode.
- Duration: 3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
- Marking Scheme: 4 marks for each correct response (2 questions of drawing will carry 70 marks).
- Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect or multi-responses.

JEE Main 2020 Syllabus
The JEE Main 2020 Syllabus indicates various topics of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry subjects for the examination. Therefor if you are preparing for the upcoming Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) you must study all the topics given in the Syllabus for 2020. Questions in the exam will be on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry taught in +2 level. Complete syllabus is given in the official information brochure and also on the website. Study all topics well to score high in the exam. In addition the syllabus is prepared by the exam conducting body, therefore its very useful.
JEE Main Paper 1 Syllabus:
The JEE Main paper 1 will be composed of all theory topics of three subjects which are physics, chemistry and mathematics.
JEE Main Paper 2 Syllabus:
The JEE Main paper 2 has been divided into three parts i.e. mathematics, aptitude test and drawing test.
JEE Main Admit Card 2020
After submitting the application form, candidates start searching the admit card. JEE Main 2020 admit card will be issued in the second week of March 2020., the JEE Mains Forms are scrutinized. JEE Main 2020 Admit Card are published to be downloaded online around 20-25 days prior to the examination date. You will need to present JEE Main Admit Card 2020 on day of exam. And to download JEE Main Admit Card you need to enter application number and password as login credentials.

JEE Main Result 2020
CBSE will announce JEE Main 2020 Result on the decided date and time. jeemain.nic.in 2020 result is hosted and made available for checking online. All test takers can log in and check Result of JEE Main which indicates marks obtained and rank.
- Result of JEE Main will be declared in the last week of April 2020 through online mode.
- JEE Main 2020 result indicates actual scores and rank secured in entrance examination.
- On the basis of JEE Main result, students will also get idea about whether they are eligible for appearing JEE Advanced or not.
- All India rank (AIR) will be considered for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFTIs and others.
JEE Main Cut off Marks
JEE Main 2020 Cut Off usually mean the minimum marks required in JEE Mains 2020 exam to get admission in one the colleges. Based on the previous year examination data here are the expected cut off for year 2020. JEE Main 2020 cut-off will be announced after the completion of exam. Meanwhile, students can check the previous years cut-off marks. In the academic year 2016-2020, JEE Main cut-off is as follows:
- Gen category – 105
- OBC – 70
- SC – 50
- ST – 44
JEE Main 2020 Counselling
JEE Main 2020 Counselling for admission / seat allotment is done by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. Candidates who have appeared either only in JEE 2020 or both JEE Mains and JEE Advanced can participate in counselling to get admission through counselling and seat allotment process. Candidates will be called for counselling procedure as per to their rank obtained in the merit list. The JEE Main 2020 Counselling will be started from the first week of July, 2020 (Tentatively). Counselling will be handled by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). The JoSAA counselling 2020 has been divided into various rounds. After each round allotment result will be announced separately.
